The Winner! (By ONE vote!)

That is totally my LEAST favorite mystery book. I don't get it, at all.

It's not my least favorite, but I hate it. Probably because I read it AFTER I read MA's portrait book, so nothing was new at all. I was like "...I've already read this book." by page 5 or something.

Oh well. It beats The Mystery (or not) at Claudia's House.

Oh, I'm so glad that it wasn't the Haunted Masquerade one. When I saw that made it to the final 2 I really meant to go find your post where you had asked people to explain WHY they liked that one, but I forgot. Maybe I will now. Because I don't get it!

I'm happy with this winner. If nothing else, I would love this book for the scene where the census-taker comes to Mary Anne's door and MA thinks it's someone from the government and Logan has his shirt off and she's like "OH NO THEY'RE GOING TO THINK MY DAD LETS ME HAVE CRAZY SEX ORGIES."

Yeah, I don't understand why people like Haunted Masquerade so much, either. I don't hate it or anything, but I don't like it a lot. A lot of people say they actually found it kind of scary, too, and I never did.

I don't mind this book, but I think it would have been way better as part of the regular series, it's pretty important backstory. Haunted Masquerade is way more mystery-ish.

Agreed. They reference it so much that it should really have been included in the original series.

I say the best mystery was Stacey and the Haunted Masquerade. Dawn and the surfer Ghost was a good mystery too.
